Block Play
Block play is developmentally appropriate for all ages.  Although they may use them
in different ways, all children like to play with a wide variety of plastic, cardboard,
and wooden blocks.

Here, a mixture of "Bristle Blocks" and
"Builders and Benders" are being
manipulated and explored.

These large cardboard blocks are a favorite,
and are wonderful for building BIG !!

Duplo's are very popular, as they come in all shapes and sizes, and also have a
number of accessories such as people, animals and vehicles.  They are a safer
alternative to Lego's, which are a choking hazard for the younger children.  A
lego table is safely located in the "Big Kid Area", where only those aged 3 1/2
and up have access to the smaller pieces.

Wooden blocks are an ever popular addition to any playroom - from towers to
castles, alone or with a friend,  toddler or preschooler, children of all ages are able
to create wonders from their own imaginations.
